I Know the Plans I Have for You…
Jeremiah 29:11
Trustee: “A person to whom something is entrusted for the benefit of others with the expectation that they will fulfill their duty.”
–Webster’s Dictionary 1828
Private trustees are typically employed to provide families with a more personal alternative than what can be offered by traditional bank and trust companies. A private trustee can offer trustee services in a way that preserves existing relationships with accountants, lawyers and investment advisors who may possess unique and valuable knowledge of the family, knowledge that would be lost to a bank or trust company that provides such services “in house”. But, perhaps most importantly, a private trustee can function with more empathy, flexibility, and speed in making decisions for family beneficiaries.
